Oh, how I’ve missed boots! Last fall, still carrying around postpartum weight and pushing a stroller, boots were just not in the forecast. The year before that, my legs were so swollen with pregnancy, that the only boots I was comfortable in were Timberlands. But this year, this year I finally went on a bit of a shopping spree!
I’ve ordered over a dozen pairs in the effort to find the perfect one. My house turned into a warehouse filled with huge boxes scattered around the living room. (because when you order an over the knee boot, they ship it to you in the largest box they got!) Occasionally my husband would trip over these boxes, cursing me under his breath, and a toddler or a cat would tumble out of them.
I take my job seriously, so I tried on and tested out all the boots I ordered. I have 15″ calves and wide knees so finding boots to fit can be a challange. I wrote my reviews with that in mind, but there are also boot suggestions for narrow calves at the end of the post. Take a look below and let me know which ones are your favorites!

Dark-grey suede boot with a pointy toe and lace up above the knee.
Has a comfortable 3 inch stacked heel.
Easy to put on and fits a wide calf. Tight at the thigh. Partial zippered opening.
Sam Edelman Kent Boots
Stretchy microsuede upper that molds to your legs!
Come in black and dark grey (shown)
Super comfortable 3 inch heel
Fit my calf even with skinny jeans on, easy to put on and take off.
Tie up in the back and side zip closure.
Carlos Santana Fringe Boot
Knee high suede boots with fringe details on the side.
Come in three colors, I’m wearing the one called Doe
Pull on style with ankle zipper (easy on but harder to take off)
Fit wide calf but a bit tight at the knee.
Hold their shape well. Sturdy 4 inch heel.
Sam Edelman Bernadette Boots
These were the most gorgeous ones of the bunch.
They came in the biggest box and, of course, they didn’t fit.
I would say they would be perfect for someone with a 14″ calf and under
4 inch high spikey heel
Genuine suede upper. Cut out at the thigh in the back.
They aren’t stretchy but rather hold their shape.
