Fur Trimmed Boots, Knitted Sweater Dress, White Silk Shirt
Here is the second part of the Boots in Review series – following the review of Over the Knee boots from two weeks ago. This one is all about short boots – ankle and calf high. I love that this season booties are slightly longer, hitting well above the ankle bone and even going up half the calf. This length goes perfectly with cropped jeans and pants we wore during the warmer months and also keep our legs just a tiny bit warmer (every little bit counts with New York’s bone chilling winds!) My ankles and calves are on the wider side, so finding booties can be tricky sometimes, so I did the same thing with short boots and I did with the tall ones – ordered a dozen pairs and picked out the ones that worked best. Read below for a review of each pair.
Steve Madden Glorria
These boots were made for Fall, look how gorgeous they look mixed with some brown leaves! These booties go so well with mini skirts but can also work with jeans. They are slightly narrow at the ankle, but still fit me well. These boots also run a tad small so if you are in between sizes, go with a size up. They are on sale now in black suede, and there is also a nubuck version of them here.
Michael Kors Dolores Suede Booties
These are by far my favorites. I love the length, the smooth black suede, the gold chain detail on the heel and the exposed zipper. Although the heel is high (3.5 inches), it’s comfortable and sturdy. They fit like a glove and have a bit of a stretch above the ankle. Perfect to wear with cropped jeans or with dresses.
Schutz Henriette Booties
These gorgeous boots are trimmed with rabbit fur and are as sexy as it gets. They have a high 4 inch spiked heel, so they aren’t made for long walks but are still comfortable. The fur is super soft. They look fantastic with dark skinny jeans. I also found them in black, and now I somewhat regret not getting the darker version.
Timberland Earthkeepers Booties
I am a huge fan of Timberland and I got so excited when I came across these heeled Timbs during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They are perfect for hanging out with my toddler and they survive any kind of terrain we might encounter. The rubber sole and heel are very sturdy and durable. These boots come in half-dozen colors, including a really pretty navy nubuck.
Left to right:
Ivanka Trump Lynna Booties in Dark Grey
Kendall and Kylie Brooke Bootie in Black
Vince Camuto Sendra Booties in Khaki
Dolce Vita Casee in Gray
All four of these pairs have one thing in common – they are tight at the ankle and didn’t fit me. The Kendall & Kylie were the most comfortable of the four pairs, followed by Dolce Vita which are adjustable with a tie at the ankle. The pair by Vince Camuto were so tight and had no zipper, so I couldn’t even get them on. All of these would be perfect for someone with thin legs!
Jessica Simpson Sesley
I love a good pair of boho-chic booties! These have such a laid back look and a comfy fit and would work with pretty much any outfit. They have a size zipper so they are super easy to put on. The heel is just over 3 inches high and very comfortable. I also saw them in an olive taupe color, which is also really nice.
