Fashion Dupes: Fendi Peekaboo look-a-like by Sam Edelman

Looking to spruce up your wardrobe with a few trendy pieces?

Here’s how to do it on a budget!

Virtually every designer out there was accused of copying someone else’s work at one point or another. Even the top shelf labels use each other as inspiration and follow a set of trends which marks the upcoming season. These trends eventually trickle down to brands like Michael Kors and Rebecca Minkoff and then all the way down to your local Forever 21. This is all great news to us, the consumers, as we then have a wide selection of merchandise to choose from – at all price levels.

When it comes to new trends, I typically recommend my clients to find fashion dupes – mass market look-alikes of the current it-bag or a close copy of a dress seen on a celebrity. This is because trends don’t last too long, and the last thing you want is to shell out a wad of cash on something that will just sit in your closet after a few wears. However, from time to time, there come trends which really resonate with your personal style (hello, bell bottom jeans!!) When this happens, I recommend to treat yourself and splurge to celebrate something you truly love coming back into the fashion spotlight.

Below, I rounded up a few of the current must-have styles and paired the “Splurge” items with their “Save” fashion dupes counterparts. Click on any of the items you like to see where to buy.
