Wearing: Missguided Ruffled Dress
This weekend I had a long-time dream of mine come to life. I’ve seen countless beautiful photos on social media taken in a spectacular settings on lavender farms and always wanted to go to one someday. However, finding a lavender farm near NYC has proven tricky. Most places were at least three hours away on the edges on Long Island, which might as well be on the other side of the moon when traveling with a toddler. Well, after a long search, my wish finally came true yesterday! My family and I found a lavender farm in New Jersey, just half an hour away from Staten Island!
Pleasant Valley Lavender is a small family farm in Malboro Township, surrounded by picturesque foliage and remains of a former pine tree nursery. There are several lavender fields spread out across ten acres of the property, enveloped in the most amazing scent you could imagine. Lavender blooms in the summer, beginning in mid-June through August. We visited in the end of June, which is the prime time to get the most amazing experience.
After picking your own flowers, be sure to stop by the gift shop for a chat with the owners, who will tell you all about their product and location. Lucky for us, we even got a quick tour of the surrounding area which used to be a pine farm. We left the place full of good spirits, with tons of pictures and some divinely-scented lavender products. As I’m writing this, I can smell the lavender balm on my skin and can’t help but smile at the amazing time we had. So glad we were able to find this small piece of heaven – a lavender farm near NYC!
